Bridgette Wilson is a Clinical and Research Dietitian undertaking a PhD at King’s College London investigating the effect of prebiotics on gut health and immunity. Bridgette gained an MSc in molecular biology with first class honours before training as a Dietitian. During her PhD Bridgette has conducted a large multi-centre, randomised controlled trial investigating the effect of supplementing the low FODMAP diet with prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharide on symptoms, gut bacteria, stool short-chain fatty acids and volatile organic compounds, and urine metabolomics in patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Bridgette was recently awarded the Rank Prize Fund award for best contributed paper and the best oral communication in small bowel and nutrition by the British Society of Gastroenterology.
